Over the past year Wizards of the Coast has partnered with a number of big brands to celebrate DnD’s 50th anniversary, with everything from DnD Hawaiian shirts to DnD Converse kicks. Yet arguably the most epic collaboration to-date is release of the “Red Dragon’s Tale” LEGO DnD set back in April of 2024.
We’ve since learned that the set (which also included it’s very own free playable LEGO DnD adventure and a bonus LEGO Mimic Dice Box) will also be followed by 12 new DnD LEGO Mini Figures, who were officially unveiled at San Diego Comic Con and will be available on September 1st, 2024. They’re available for pre-order now via the LEGO website.
So just what can we expect to see from these new bricktastic minis? Below we break out all the details.
What are the new DnD LEGO Mini Figures?
The DnD LEGO mini figures will reportedly be classified as LEGO product 71047 (with devoted brickheads using these numbers as a way to track various releases). The set will consist of twelve unique monsters and characters from DnD lore, with some of the figures using accessories and components from existing LEGO models. The figures are as follows:
- Mind flayer (with Intellect devourer pet)
- The vampire Count Strahd von Zarovich (with sword , goblet and rat)
- The Archmage Tasha (with cauldron and spell book)
- The Lich and Red Wizard Szass Tam (with skull)
- The Lady of Pain (with interdimensional cube)
- Tiefling Sorcerer (with pseudodragon familiar)
- Dragonborn Paladin (with shield and mace)
- Aarakocra Ranger (with bow and dog companion)
- Dwarf Barbarian (with battle axe and torch)
- Githyanki Warlock (with arcane eye staff and dagger)
- Halfling Druid (with staff and bird companion)
- Half-elf Bard (with lute and sword)
It’s a nice mix of familiar classes and species, along with characters that will be familiar to longtime DnD fans. It is surprising, however, that they left out a few obvious choices, including the dark elf ranger Drizzt Do’Urden and the fabled sorcerer Mordenkainen. Even more glaring is the omission of the arch-lich Venca, who is appearing in an upcoming campaign entitled Vecna: Eve of Ruin.
That being said, this is may just be the first wave of multiple sets, so it’s possible we may see more familiar characters and monsters in future releases.
How much are the new DnD LEGO Mini Figures?
Each of the new DnD LEGO mini figures will retail for $4.99 USD, which is comparable to what we’ve seen with other LEGO products.
It’s possible that after release you may be able to purchase a six pack of random figures for $29.99 USD (something that’s common for products such as the Marvel superhero mini figs). It’s also possible they may sell out quickly (at which point they will likely command much higher prices on eBay and the secondary market).
When will the new DnD LEGO Mini Figures be available?
The new DnD LEGO mini figures will be available on September 1st, 2024. At that time it will be available both online and at brick and mortar retailers.
Final Thoughts
DnD and LEGO are clearly two brands that fit perfectly and it’s amazing to see them coming together with the mini figures. With the success of the Red Dragon’s Tale set, it’s also likely we can except more products in the days to come.
We’ll be keeping a close eye out on this story in the days ahead and will update this page with a review closer to launch. In the meantime, you can pre-order your minis now via the LEGO website.
